Qualogy meets Qualogy Caribbean: a reflection
Published on: Author: Team Communication Category: NewsThe Qualogy management team has spent a working week in Parimaribo with the colleagues from Qualogy Caribbean. Nilesh Bishesar, General Manager Qualogy Caribbean and Account Manager Paul Kaasenbrood reflect on an inspiring week.
In addition to the working visit, Paul had the opportunity to discover Suriname. He recounts: “Suriname is a wonderful country, with warmhearted people. I was really taken by the feeling of hospitality. The boat trip to the plantations was hugely impressive and the night spent in the rainforest, with colleague Sonny Sheoratan as guide, is something we will never forget.”
Stronger relationship
The visit has strengthened the relationship between the two branches. Nilesh explains: “I can look back on a very warm week in which we got to know one another informally. The ice officially melted under the Surinam sun. We can relate now. I am also proud that our Dutch colleagues got a taste of Suriname’s hospitality and authenticity as it delivers some recognition and acknowledgement – this is important, as the unknown is often unloved.”
Dutch-language offshoring
The Suriname office provides Qualogy with a unique offshore offering. Nilesh: “Dutch-language offshoring provides all sorts of opportunities in all sorts of areas. Take the huge challenges related to job market shortages, for example. The ‘war on talent’ is certainly a very important topic in the IT sector. In Suriname there are lots of Dutch-language IT professionals. Thanks to the bridge between the Netherlands and Suriname, organizations in the Netherlands can now also make use of their knowledge and expertise.”
Paul adds: “Qualogy Caribbean’s business model perfectly dovetails our offshore offering. I have already discussed the possibilities with our Dutch clients regularly. Now that I have been to Suriname, I can tell the story with heartfelt passion. I have experienced the sincere professionality of our Suriname colleagues. The way in which they talk and think about their careers is inspiring. Their degree of company pride is also something from which we can learn in the Netherlands.”
Combining strengths
Nilesh continues: “The 200 colleagues in the Netherlands are working on different projects to our almost 70 colleagues in Suriname. Through knowledge sessions, we keep one another up-to-date and exchange technical and functional information. It keeps us sharp and on the ball.”
Paul: “This presents opportunities for both sides. The thread throughout the visit was therefore how we can combine our strengths and learn from one another.”
Intensive cooperation
Paul closes: “The management team looks back on an inspiring week. The cooperation was already good. Our working visit has made it even more intense. Both our clients and staff will reap the rewards.”
