From junior to senior: Anuradha talks about her growth at Qualogy

Now, Anuradha has worked as a Senior Software Developer for over a year. She would love to tell you more about her growth at Qualogy.
After studying Energy Technologies, Anuradha looked for a fun and challenging position that would teach her a lot. In 2008, she applied at Qualogy. And she got the job! Anuradha says: “Qualogy was founded only a year ago when I applied. The company was very much in its start-up phase. They offered me plenty of opportunities for (career) development as a Junior APEX Developer. I immediately said yes!”
Informative bootcamp
Every year, Qualogy organizes a bootcamp: a special training program to educate new developers. Anuradha also joined the program when she was hired. Anuradha: “I had little to no practical experience when it came to IT. The bootcamp was the perfect teaching method. I could immediately put what I had learned into actual practice. It was great!”
Working as an APEX Developer
After the bootcamp, Anuradha got to work as a Junior APEX Developer. She was supervised by a senior. Anuradha: “The supervision was nice. He was always there when I needed him. Sometimes, it seemed like he could read my thoughts! Thanks to his somewhat strict supervision I was even more motivated to be the best I can be. When I look back on this period, I can say proudly that my programming base is great thanks to his supervision.”
Something else
After gaining work experience for a few years, Anuradha wanted to try her hand at another company. In 2013, she left Qualogy and got to work at an energy company. Anuradha says: “There, I mainly helped automate processes, such as registering current and voltage malfunctions. I also helped streamline data.”
Like coming home
In 2019, Anuradha received a surprising question: if she wanted to return to Qualogy as an APEX Developer. The decision was difficult but, in the end, she chose for her ‘home base’ Qualogy. “Returning to Qualogy felt like coming home. I am very happy with this job. I am currently working on two different projects in different teams. For project number one I build various functionalities as an Application Developer. And I am an Information Analyst for project number two. Together with colleagues, we execute a gap analysis. My job is very varied!”
From junior to senior
As a senior, Anuradha supervises juniors. What is that like? Anuradha is positive: “It is challenging and fun. By explaining the theory, I am also testing my own knowledge. This results in evaluating and improving my own methods. I also appreciate my colleagues’ fresh approach. They often have new ideas that will only improve the final product.”
